About the role:


The primary purpose of this role is to provide a community-based primary mental health service for youth aged 12-18 years, and their whānau, that is strengths-based and resilience oriented, based in South Taranaki. This role will provide whānau ora based support and where appropriate short/medium term therapeutic evidence-based interventions and sits within an existing team of clinicians providing services to the rest of the Taranaki region. This role also provides support to certain schools by way of consultation and group programmes.


Applicants will need:

  • Tertiary qualification

  • Professional registration with a health or social service professional body

  • Experience in providing therapeutic interventions relevant to working with taiohi in the field of mental health

  • Existing networks within the South Taranaki community

  • Experience in applying Tikanga Māori as it applies in the role

  • A full NZ Driver Licence is essential
