Consultants Statement

I met with Alexander to discuss his career aspirations, as well as current needs and his first post-graduate job.  He has Aspergers, and like most people with ASD does have some additional needs but once Alex understands the process, can be left alone to complete the work.  He recognises when he is in a stressful environment, and the remedy for him is to have a short break and perhaps a walk to clear his head.

Alex impressed as friendly, kind and considerate person.  He engaged in conversation well and enjoys being in a team environment, even sharing the leadership of the group.  He enjoyed the challenge of two Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor pursuit programmes, with each having a seven-day duration and required team work and some leadership skills.

Alex enjoys writing, and completed a Bachelor of Communication majoring in Media Studies.  Ultimately he would love to be able to be an author, but in the interim can use his communication and writing skills in any role that would require these skills.  This could include a wide range, from Technical Writing, report writing through to content creation for social media work.

Structure within the role is something that suits Alex’s personality but he does like to be challenged where two days are never the same.  When learning new tasks, he should be closely monitored to ensure that he has grasped the concept and following the steps required in a structured environment.

He has completed a number of volunteering roles, as well as an internship in order to learn more life skills.
